Doors
Do you remember that timeÂ
on the airport train
when you got off before
me and I got stuck
behind the stroller
the doors closing,
separating us,
until a stranger put out his hand?
This is what I’m thinking aboutÂ
while we walk and I watchÂ
your shadow getting longer,Â
the space between us getting wider.Â
I have the urge to throwÂ
myself in the gap, cry out for help,
but I am stuck in the realityÂ
that there is no handÂ
that can stopÂ
the doors of time.
Oh gosh cue the tears. This is so true and beautiful and heartbreaking in the best way.
Oof so good
